“I
live on a boat that sails on the sea. On long crossings me and my big sister
Maddie make slides with all the boat cushions. I draw pictures and give them
to my friends I meet. I play in the waves and love to go on fast dingy rides.”
I
am 4 ½ years old. My birthday was on a pretty beach in Roatan. My Daddy hung
a piñata up on the bow and we hit it with a boat hook until it busted open. It
was nice to have Eileen Quinn at my party since she is one of my favorite singers.
I like the song French Fries and Ice Cream the best. We don’t get to eat that
stuff when we sail. We mostly eat canned chicken or fish when we can catch one.
Baking is fun on a boat. We make all
kinds of treats like cookies, pretzels, and bread. I started going to “class”
with Maddie and finished my entire Kindergarden workbook. Before school begins
we get out the yoga mat and Mom teaches us new poses and stretches. I like that
part of the day. If it is kind of rough outside we can’t really do things like
that. We have to sit at the table and read, do crafts or watch a DVD. When
we get to land I like to run and play. My Dad cracks coconuts for us to drink
from and we find all sorts of neat treasures on the beaches. My Mom collects
bottles so I find her the best ones. I didn’t find too many shells except for
in Belize. In Guatemala I collected
over 50 tadpoles on the Rio Dulce with my friends. I kept them until they grew
legs and then sent them home to grow into frogs. We
don’t have pets so I like to make homes for the little hermit crabs we find and
keep them for awhile.
It was a long day
going through the Panama Canal, but my favorite Uncle Gary was there to help so
that was cool. There were a lot of men on OHANA throwing lines all around. We
finally got to the other side so I could ride my bike again. We
are visiting Alaska and having fun camping. I am excited to see my friends again
in Tonga. My Mom tells me I will be going to school in New Zealand. There are
sheep there and even snow. Sailing is actually fun and there are a lot of kids
like me who live on boats too. Check out my pictures…you’ll see! BYE!
